The current story unfolds in Chapter 1,098, titled “The Birth of Bonney.”
Jinny’s Kidnap – Celestial Dragon’s Wife
The chapter begins with a shocking revelation – Jinny, a beloved character, was kidnapped and forced to become the wife of a Tenryuubito, celestial dragon. This event shook the One Piece community, as it highlighted the cruel and unjust practices of the Tenryuubito.
Kuma’s – All out war
Also this chapter reveals that Ginny was kidnapped to become a Tenryuubito’s wife, leading to a more violent Revolutionary Army and a more intense Kuma. After Ginny was kidnapped, the Revolutionary Army picked up people from Goa Kingdom. Kuma ended the battle on that island all by himself.
Tenryuubito’s Unhuman Things
Bonney is revealed to be the child born from Ginny and the Tenryuubito. Two years later, Ginny contracted a mortal disease called “Sapphire Scale”, which is even rarer than the “Amber Lead Syndrome”. The disease causes the patient’s body to turn blue and their skin to harden like rocks/scales when they come into contact with natural light. Ginny became unrecognizable due to the disease, leading the Tenryuubito to release her. She returned to Sorbet Kingdom and left Bonney with the elders on the island.
Jinny’s Final Talk
Ginny called the Revolutionary Army from inside the church where she lived with Kuma. During their conversation, Kuma teleported to Sorbet Kingdom, but Ginny had already passed away by the time he arrived. Kuma decided to raise Bonney with the help of the elders. He also brought Bonney books about different islands to read.
Years passed, and Bonney developed the “Sapphire Scale” disease too. Kuma decided to quit the Revolutionary Army and take care of her. Bonney misunderstood that she would be cured when she turned 10, leading Kuma to continue telling her optimistically that her disease would be cured one day.
The chapter ends when Bekori, the former Sorbet King, returned to Sorbet Kingdom and started to kill Sorbet citizens, leading the people to ask Kuma for help.
